Bio

Bridget Larson, Ph.D.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist providing a variety of mental health assessment and therapy services. I have specialized education and training which enables me to be proficient in conducting forensic psychological evaluations, including competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility at the time of the crime, violence and sexual risk assessments, parenting capacity evaluations, and child custody evaluations. In addition to forensic evaluations, I conduct psychological evaluations for diagnostic clarification and relevant treatment recommendations.

I provide individual therapy for adults, and have particular expertise in areas of anxiety, depression, grief and loss, as well as chronic pain. I am a proponent of cognitive-behavioral therapy, and believe patients need to be willing to put in effort and work to improve.

I earned my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology with a psychology-law concentration at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. While I received my core training in clinical psychology, my psychology-law concentration allowed me to take additional coursework on topics relevant to clinical-forensic psychology. Such issues included criminal and civil issues of competency, mental state at time of offense, mitigation in sentencing, witness preparation, jury selection and psychology in correction settings. I completed my Pre-Doctoral Internship with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Rochester, MN where I completed forensic evaluations, psychological assessment, and therapy. I completed my specialized forensic Post-Doctoral Fellowship with State Operated Forensic Services in St. Peter, MN where I focused solely on forensic assessment/evaluation related to criminal and civil issues. I have been licensed in Nebraska since 2009. I am a member of the Nebraska Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association.
